Getaria

Getaria, home village of Juan Sebastian Elkano, the first sailor to circumnavigate the world, and of Cristobal Balenciaga, recognised maestro of fashion clothes design, is a picturesque fishing village which has not forgotten its history, and manages to successfully retain all its flavor. With two golden beaches, Malkorbe and Gaztetape, and a modern sporting port, it offers visitors the possibility to enjoy many types of nautical activities. Lastly, we cannot forget Getaria’s exquisite gastronomical offerings, foremost of which is the rightly famous grilled fresh fish served in restaurants throughout the village.
