Description
Lazkano-Enea is a pretty yet simple house reminiscent of the typical houses of Iparralde, the French Basque Country. It provides accommodation for 10, divided across two floors. Lazkano-Enea has a large & well equipped dining kitchen, 5 spacious bedrooms, 4 fully equipped bathrooms, one adapted for disabled people and two separate, spacious lounges each with its own wood-burning stove. The house is surrounded by fruit trees and typical local vegetation. It lies on the famous Camino de Santiago route for peregrines.
Located on mount Santa Barbara, on the spectacular Cantabrian coast, the house offers magnificent views of Getaria and the Bay of Biscay. The rural setting also invites visitors to contemplate the vinyards on the surrounding hills from whose grapes the local speciality comes, a white wine called Txakoli (pronounced “chakoli”).
Important note: Check- in is from 16:00 to 22:00. hours. Late check-in until 00:00 has an extra cost of 50 euros.

This was probably one of the best houses we have stayed in as a family. I wished we had additional time to spend and soak up every moment of this magical home. To begin, the location has amazing views of the sea along with the historic and quaint town of Getaria. It was a great location for our family to take day trips, allowing us the ability to easily explore surrounding towns.
The house is exceptional. Every room has been carefully designed with many thoughtful aspects to make you feel like you are right at home. It is welcoming, cozy and comfortable. The kitchen was very well appointed and I was able to cook several meals for our large family with ease. It was such a treat to have thoughtful items like spices on hand that made cooking a breeze. The many seating areas within the home offer fantastic views along with the numerous en suite bathrooms was a fantastic plus for our family. The beds were spacious and comfortable along with additional throws to make you feel right at home. If you are traveling to the Basque area, this would be an ideal location and phenomenal place to stay to soak in the daily life of the area. I would highly recommend. |

Amaia was next door to help us with needs, including loaning us a cooler for the market & arranging services of a Chef who prepared us a truly spectacular meal our last evening. You will want a car as you can travel to town for dinners (park free near the beach) and have day trips to San Sebastián, Bilbao, the GeoPark and even the Rioja area. Our group of 4 couples recommend it highly and we hope we can visit again soon!

We called on them to help us out with numerous unfortunate and difficult situations…....the need for urgent care, a parking ticket and an unrepairable flat tire. They were extremely helpful and we deeply appreciated their assistance. Although I doubt we will have an opportunity to return to the Spanish Basque region, I can highly recommend this lovely home.

No es mejora, es opinión subjetiva, la casa estaba muy equipada, nos sólo con menaje, sino alfombras, Decoracion, cuadros, libros,cortinas… a nosotros nos gusta nuestra casa con menos llena, pero eso son gustos. Es por buscarle una pega!!

Aunque la casa está muy limpia, como tiene muchas cortinas, cojines etc. Se acumula polvo. Nosotros teníamos personas alérgicas al polvo que se vieron afectadas. Por lo demás todo muy bien.

Pasamos un fin de semana 6 amigos, y no nos equivocamos con la casa, está todo al detalle, sábanas bordadas, vajilla buena, la casa está decorada con muchísimo gusto y muy relacionada con el entorno en donde se ubica la casa. Todas las estancias son see more

Todas las estancias son para disfrutarlas desde los salones, pasando por los baños hasta las habitaciones. Las vistas son espectaculares y la dueña amaia muy atenta y preocupada para que estuviésemos Agustí. Mi más sincera enhorabuena a este alojamiento. Nos permitió pasar un fin de semana entre amigos inolvidable. Volveremos sin ninguna duda y lo recomiendo 100%.

Holiday in Basque house.

In May we had a wonderful holiday with 2 other couples, (all of us from Sydney, Australia,) in a lovely house, surrounded by vineyards, overlooking Getaria. The first impression was stunning, red geraniums in window boxes & bright blue shutters. Whensee more
In May we had a wonderful holiday with 2 other couples, (all of us from Sydney, Australia,) in a lovely house, surrounded by vineyards, overlooking Getaria. The first impression was stunning, red geraniums in window boxes & bright blue shutters. When we went into the house we were delighted with the view from the living room and long balcony overlooking the ocean & the fishing village. We were very comfortable , the kitchen was well equipped & there was lots of local pamphlets, plus very useful information from the owners. We felt very welcome. We did local trips & found Getaria was a charming place to visit. Lots of good restaurants, plus we all enjoyed watching the fishing fleet coming & going from the port. One memorable night we observed dozens of boats fishing at night with lights, for squid ? There were pleasant local walks & very good local supermarkets. Our visits to San Sebastián several times were highlights. I would suggest booking a pintxos tour with a guide. ( we went by taxis ! ) I would thoroughly recommend this house, lots of spare bedrooms on 2 levels, & an extra kitchenette downstairs. We really only lived upstairs, though one couple enjoyed having the extra space & chose a bedroom downstairs. We were all very sorry to leave, & wished we had an extra week, I would thoroughly recommend staying longer. I would love to go back with my children & grandchildren. I cooked this baby lamb. Delectable !
